Strategy in business is knowing your Vision and Purpose

Strategy in business is knowing your Vision and Purpose

💡 Business strategy is vital for any company seeking growth, or aspiring entrepreneur seeking to start a business. Yet time and again, many businesses and entrepreneurs prepare detailed business plans, put the hard yards in and still fail. WHY❓

The lack of awareness in their vision and purpose often fundamentally narrows the viewing lens, and in today’s world, stakeholders have a strong affiliation to support business that have a humanising purpose.

✅ Remember, every great business has a vision for the future. And unlike a mission statement, which defines where a company should be successful, a vision represents a company and Founder’s beliefs and value system.

✅ A vision and purpose describe where a company aspires to be upon achieving its mission…and where the company wants a community, or the world, to be because of its product or services.

✅ Do not limit the focus on growth rates or revenue but think beyond that, considering what can be created or achieved by providing a valuable service or product. For example, IKEA’s vision statement is: “Our vision is to create a better everyday life for many people.”

✅ Having a vision and purpose provides direction for a business. Your vision and purpose often will help define short and long-term goals, and guide the decisions needed to be made along the way.

4 Ways to Silence the Inner Critic

4 Ways to Silence the Inner Critic

💡 Being an entrepreneur can be incredibly stressful and isolating work. This makes it the perfect place for a critical voice (our inner critic) to creep in when we make mistakes, procrastinate on an item on our to-do list, or don’t meet our weekly goals.

That voice is what we call our “inner business critic.” Depending on how loud our inner critic is, some of us may not consciously realize how this manifests in our work.

However, this inner critic of ours can be tamed and nurtured by simply applying the following:

✅ Develop an awareness of our thoughts.

➡️ We get so used to hearing our own narrations that it’s easy to become oblivious to the messages that we’re sending ourselves. Pay attention to what we think about and recognize that just because we think something, doesn’t mean it’s true.

✅ Ask what advice would you give a friend.

➡️ If a friend were to express feelings of self-doubt, its unlikely many of us would say, “You can’t ever do anything right,” or “You’re so stupid. No one likes you.” Yet, we’re often quick to say those things to ourselves i.e. practicing what we preach to others is important in our lives.

💎 In the inner courtroom of our mind, we are the only judgment that counts❗️ 💎
